Here we have three very knowledgeable gentlemen who are helping to make this dream into a reality. Starting on the right we have John Rogaris (superintendent), Andy Dumovich (project manager) and Kurt Bakhus (asst. superintendent). John and Kurt are up there every day coordinating the work. A very fine team.
Throughout the property the land has been graded in such a manner to allow water to flow towards the retaining pond where it will sit and be slowly released into the surrounding watershed. This is one of the inlets which will bring draining from the parking lot into the retaining pond. Where I am standing to take the picture will be eventually approximately waist high in water.
Here we see the wood forms into which the concrete will be poured for the footings for the cottages. We also see the steel reinforcing (re-bar) which will strengthen the footing upon which the foundation wall will be built.
In this photo we see the plumbing contractor digging for and installing plumbing waste lines which will be under the finished floor in the lower level. When we walk on a floor in any building we often don’t realize what has to be done before the floor we walk upon is installed.
His Grace reads the closing prayer of the service and then thanked, on behalf of His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos, those present from the building committee and the project superintendents and contractors for their efforts in making such progress. His Grace informed us that His Eminence has seen the progress on the blog while being out of town, and was very moved and emotional to see the pictures.
We thank His Grace for his spiritual guidance and for coming on short notice, to bless the foundation.
His Grace walks the entire foundation footprint blessing it with the Holy Agiasmo.
